Iconic magazines

Andrew Richardson founded the magazine in 1998 as a “radical independent magazine focused on sex and sexuality”; even though the Kardashian issue, “A9,” is the 20th anniversary issue, it’s only the ninth issue published overall (among the previous eight cover stars are Sasha Grey, Jenna Jameson, and Blac Chyna). After a T-shirt collaboration with Supreme in 2003, Richardson expanded into an apparel brand, as well. (Richardson himself moved from London to New York in 1989, initially working for stylist Brana Wolf and photographer Steven Meisel.)
