Michael B. Jordan Is in Work Mode
In 2019, Michael B. Jordan told an interviewer that he would be “in work mode” for the next few years. At 32, he already had a place on Hollywood’s A-list—his star turn in 2015’s “Creed,” a sequel to the fifth sequel of “Rocky,” had seen to that—but he wanted to ride his hot streak as long as it lasted. “My mid-30s I can live a little,” he predicted.
Seven years and an Academy Award later, Jordan is busier than ever—finishing his reimagination of “The Thomas Crown Affair,” for which he is doing triple duty as actor, producer, and director; shooting a reboot of “Miami Vice” costarring Austin Butler; and producing “Delphi,” a “Creed” franchise spin-off set in a boxing gym. Then what? “That’s probably when I’m going to do more reflecting and processing of all of this,” he says, “Because honestly, it’s been—I’ve been moving.”
For Vogue’s October 2026 issue—and ahead of Vogue World: Milan, which he will attend—Michael B. Jordan meets Kelefa Sanneh in London to talk about life, work, and what keeps him grinding.
